2 Minutes to Win It with REALTOR.ca Contest Official Rules and Regulations
To Enter: Individual REALTORS® who complete a challenge question online and submit their name and CREA ID to the 2 Minutes to Win It with REALTOR.ca Contest during each one of the six Weekly Contest Periods set out below) (“Participants”) will be automatically entered for a chance to win a weekly prize and a grand prize. One challenge question will be available for completion during each of the following Weekly Contest Periods:
- Week One: Monday, January 7, 2019, 12:01 a.m. ET to Sunday, January 13, 2019, 11:59 p.m. ET.
- Week Two: Monday, January 14, 2019 at 12:01 a.m. ET to Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.ET.
- Week Three: Monday, January 21 2019 at 12:01 a.m.ET to Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 11:59p.m.ET.
- Week Four: Monday, January 28 2019 at 12:01 a.m.ET to Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 11:59p.m.ET.
- Week Five: Monday, February 4 2019 at 12:01 a.m.ET to Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 11:59p.m.ET.
- Week Six: Monday, February 11 2019 at 12:01 a.m.ET to Sunday, February 17 at 11:59p.m.ET.
A maximum of one entry per Participant is allowed per weekly contest period. Each qualified weekly entry during the Contest Period will also count as one entry towards the Grand Prize, for a maximum of six entries per Participant for the Grand Prize draw during the Full Contest Period (from 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), Monday, January 7, 2019 to 11:59 p.m. ET, Sunday, February 17, 2019). If a weekly contest period has ended, a Participant may still complete the challenge question for that period any time before the end of the Full Contest Period and receive an entry for the Grand Prize draw although they will not be eligible for the weekly prize for that period. Weekly winners continue to be eligible to win the Grand Prize. Entries become the property of The Canadian Real Estate Association (“CREA”) and will not be returned.
Prizes: There are six (6) weekly prizes (the "Weekly Prizes") available to be won each consisting of:
- Week One: one Costco gift card ($500.00)
- Week Two: one Staples gift card ($500.00)
- Week Three: one Petro Canada gift card ($500.00)
- Week Four: one Costco gift card ($500.00)
- Week Five: one Staples gift card ($500.00)
- Week Six: one Petro Canada gift card ($500.00)
There is one Grand Prize consisting of a $5,000 GiftPass number, redeemable at participating retailers at GiftCertificates.ca (ARV $5,000) (collectively, the “Prizes”). The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable. CREA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value.
Drawing: The draw for the week one prize will take place on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 12pmEST. The draw for the week two prize will take place on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 12pmEST. The draw for the week three prize will take place on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 12pmEST. The draw for the week four prize will take place on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 12pmEST. The draw for the week five prize will take place on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 12pm EST. The draw for the week six prize will take place on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 12pmEST.
The draw for the Grand Prize will take place on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. EST. All draws will take place at the offices of Cyan Solutions in Ottawa, Ontario. One (1) entry and one (1) back up entry will be selected at random each week from eligible weekly entries for the Weekly Prizes and one (1) entry and one (1) backup entry will be selected from all qualified entries for the Grand Prize.
Eligibility: To be eligible to win any Prize, an entrant must: a) be a Canadian resident; b) have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which she/he resides as of 12:01 a.m. EST, Monday, January 7, 2019; c) be an individual REALTOR® and member in good standing of CREA as of that date; d) not be an employee, representative or agent of CREA, nor be someone domiciled with any such person, and e) have completed one or more challenge questions in the 2 Minutes to Win It with REALTOR.ca Contest entry as indicated above. Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
Odds: The odds of winning the Prizes depend on the total number of eligible automatic entries received throughout the Contest Period.
Use of Information: By opting to be a Participant, a REALTOR® agrees to be entered into the Contest. If selected as a potential winner for the Contest, it will be necessary for CREA to verify that a potential winner fulfills the eligibility criteria for the Contest. No permanent records of any such personal information will be retained by such parties, except for the administration of this Contest.
Winner Notification/Prize Awards: All potential winners will each be notified via e-mail or phone (using contact information provided in Board MLS® system) by a representative of Cyan Solutions within 24 hours of the draw for which each potential winner was selected. In order to win a prize, a selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question and sign and return to CREA a declaration and release form within three (3) days from the time the prize notification is marked as having been sent by Cyan Solutions by e-mail. The skill-testing question and the Release will be included electronically in the prize notification e-mail. The Prize will be forfeited and available to be awarded to the alternate winner following the procedures set forth above if: (a) the prize notification is returned as non-deliverable; (b) if the Release, including skill testing question, is not returned within three (3) days from the time the prize notification e-mail is marked as having been sent; or (c) if the skill-testing question is incorrectly answered. In the event the prize notification e-mail is returned as non-deliverable from the alternate winner, the alternate winner does not return the required documentation within three (3) days, and/or the skill-testing question has been incorrectly answered by the alternate winner, the Prize will be forfeited and not awarded to any further alternates.
Additional Terms: By participating, all Participants agree to: (a) these Rules and the decisions of CREA which shall be final and binding without right of appeal in all respects; and (b) release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless CREA, its Board of Directors and staff, their advertising or promotional agencies, and any of the foregoing entities’ respective officers, directors, affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, employees, vendors, successors and assigns (collectively the “Contest Parties”) from any liability, claims, or damages, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest, an entrant’s participation in the Contest, and/or the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of a Prize. By accepting a Prize, each winner agrees to CREA’s and its designee’s use of his/her name, city, province or territory of residence and/or photograph or other likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without notice or compensation. All national, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.
Limitation of Liability: The Contest Parties shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in the offer or administration of the Contest or any other Contest-related materials; for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or incomplete entries; or for or for transactions that are posted late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. CREA reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the Contest as determined by the CREA in their sole discretion.
For Québec Residents Only: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
